Hauser Garden, a passion

Our heart's project is the Hauser Garden. Since the summer of 2022, many vegetables in Hauser St. Moritz come from our own garden in Samedan, 1721 meters above sea level. It is made up of various cooperations with farmers and gardeners in the region.

Cooperations with like-minded people

Helpful for the Hauser Garden project is the network of trusted people that has been cultivated over decades. Together with vegetable grower Lorenzo Polin and graphic designer and gardener Simona Degiacomi, the Hausers cultivate a 120 m2 field in Samedan. At the beginning of 2022, all kinds of vegetables were grown in the greenhouse, and at the beginning of June the seedlings were planted in the field. Everyone planted together, including the employees of the Hauser.

Piero's Giardino
On the sunny slopes of the nearby Valtellina ripen vegetables and fruits of Piero Polinelli, long-time head pastry chef with us. Whenever possible, Piero delivers us products directly from his garden.
Potatoes from the farmer
Engadine potatoes
A favorite dish of many guests are the Hauser Gnocchi. Our chef Ivana Falzaresi prepares them fresh from Engadine potatoes. We obtain the spicy tubers from Ruet Rati in Madulain.
Our own garden
Since spring 2022 we finally have a 120 m2 piece of land in Samedan, where we grow lettuce and vegetables with the vegetable grower Lorenzo Polin and the graphic designer and gardener Simona Degiacomi.
Tomatoes from Sils im Domleschg
Growing tomatoes is demanding; we found what we were looking for at the Fasolini nursery in Sils im Domleschg, which, under the direction of Hannes Mark, provides a colorful and varied selection of tomatoes.
Tasting!
You can't get more aromatic than fresh fruit and crisp vegetables from your own garden. Since the summer of 2022, Hotel Hauser St. Moritz has been offering dishes from its own garden. Now it is possible to visit the Hauser Garden. Learn more about planting vegetables at 1721 meters above sea level.
