Their duo concerts have become legendary. Raphael Jost, the rising star of Swiss vocal jazz and a brilliant pianist, and the seasoned saxophonist Christoph Grab come together to perform gems from the Great American Songbook as well as their own compositions. A dazzling display of interaction—sophisticated, humorous, and moving. Raphael Jost is the recipient of the 2015 Swiss Jazz Award, and Christoph Grab received the 2023 Swiss Jazz Award.

Pre-concert reception with the Issa Kouyate Trio

Issa Kouyaté, a kora virtuoso, singer, and composer from Senegal, carries his people’s musical tradition out into the world. Born into one of the most renowned griot families, he was introduced to the art of playing the kora from his earliest childhood. Thus, Issa grew into the role of the griot, the “singing storyteller.” Together with Márcio de Sousa and Joël Burkhard, they perform Issa Kouyaté’s compositions as a trio. The result is a fusion of West African tradition, Afrobeat, and jazz influences.

Mellow guitar chords, driving rhythms, and a distinctive voice—all set to Portuguese lyrics: these are the hallmarks of the band REA SOM. Singer Rea Hunziker, together with her fellow musicians, creates a fascinating soundscape. The sonic richness of the Portuguese language, polyphonic vocal passages, and rousing, danceable grooves blend with soulful ballads to form a harmonious whole. Her warm, smooth voice impressively embodies the lightness and gentle exuberance of Brazilian music.

Aperitif Concert with Noemi Beza

Raised in Thurgau, with Ethiopian roots, Noemi Beza made it clear early on that she didn’t want to take a back seat. In 2023, the then 17-year-old released her first songs, performed shortly thereafter at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Openair St. Gallen, and the Gurtenfestival in Bern—and landed in the Top 50 of the airplay charts with “Head Up High.” With “Hear Me,” Noemi Beza joins a movement of young voices who, like some of her great role models—Olivia Dean, Arlo Parks, and Holly Humberstone—wear their hearts on their sleeves and make people feel seen.

Two & The Sun is playful, charismatic indie pop—wild, warm, and approachable. The Swiss duo combines danceable lightness with poetic depth, creating a sound that moves between indie, pop, and folk, infused with soul and jazz nuances. The distinctive voices of Steffi and Joni are characteristic of the band, giving it an unmistakable, instantly recognizable sound. On stage, Two & The Sun are far more than just a band: they create a space to breathe deeply, dance, and let go. Stories are told, humor and depth alternate, and a sense of closeness and authenticity is palpable.

Muralim is like walking barefoot in the sand, like taking a plunge into cold water in the summer, like that first cup of coffee in the morning. Muralim is music for the heart and soul, embodying those moments when you forget everything else and only the here and now matters. The band met while studying at the Zurich University of the Arts and was selected for the "Best of Swiss Jazz Bachelors" series shortly thereafter. The music is penned by saxophonist Mauro Reimann and is further developed through the influences of all band members during their joint jams. The result is music that is almost impossible to resist. The melodies are catchy yet sophisticated, the grooves invite you to tap along, and the band’s unbridled joy of playing makes the air above the stage crackle.

Since making a splash on “The Voice France” in 2014, the young singer-songwriter has been performing regularly throughout Europe. With his bluesy guitar style and soulful voice, Flo plays authentic music that’s still very much in tune with the times. In Switzerland, Flo Bauer is making a name for himself thanks to his collaboration with a big name in the blues scene: Philipp Fankhauser. Following a guest appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2018, he is now part of Fankhauser’s band as a guitarist. Welcome back to the Hauser Terrace.

With “Colorblind,” Kilian Sladek presents a neo-soul album that addresses the feeling of inner colorblindness. When the world seems black and white, these songs offer small keys—to moments, details, and everyday situations where color returns. Between introspective grooves and warm melodies, the tracks tell of closeness, inner struggles, weightlessness, and new beginnings. COLORBLIND does not seek to lecture, but to heal: a soundtrack that opens up perspectives, dissolves contrasts, and reminds us how much color there is in life—once we learn to see it again.
