The MLQ blends jazz, world music, and folk music, leaving plenty of room for improvisation—resulting in a fresh, lively, and distinctive sound. With Florian Mächler (guitar), Raphael Walser (bass), and Christian Zünd (drums), Mathias Landtwing has three outstanding musicians by his side who shape the quartet’s sound. The MLQ’s musical language is constantly evolving; new songs enrich the setlist, and the audience responds enthusiastically.

British-Sierra Leonean singer Gwyn Jay Allen and pianist Alex Wilson pay tribute to the life and music of Louis Armstrong in a show that goes far beyond a mere homage. They trace the Creole thread that runs through Armstrong’s New Orleans roots and blend it with Allen’s own Krio heritage from Freetown, Sierra Leone, as well as the Nyabinghi rhythms of the West Indies and the deep Latin grooves of South America.
